Welcome in Zhejiang, Hangzhou

Hangzhou, seen from the Xi Hu (West Lake)

Hangzhou is the beautiful capital of the district Zhejiang, at the Qiantang river in east China.

On the island Putuoshan, in Zhoushan prefecture, is the sacred mountain Putuoshan located, one of the four sacred mountains in Chinese Buddhism.

Beautiful tourist destinations in Zhejiang include the Baoguo Temple, the oldest intact wooden structure in Southern China, 15km north of Ningbo and West Lake, in Hangzhou.

Putuo Shan is one of the most famous Buddhist mountains of China. Chinese Buddhists associate it with Guan Yin. Tiantai Shan is a mountain which is very important to Zen Buddhism.

Furthermore are very interesting the Qita Temple in Ningbo. Shaoxing and Wuzhen and other waterway towns. And of course the ancient capital of the district Hangzhou.

Yandang Shan is a wonderful mountainous scenic area north of Wenzhou and Qiandao Lake, lit. Thousand-island lake.

The Guoqing Temple is already founded in the Sui Dynasty, and is the founding place of Tiantai Buddhism.

The next district to visit is Fujian, located south of Zhejiang.
